Kalaburagi, Feb. 13: Mahashivratri and the Jayanti of the singing cuckoo Sarojini Naidu were celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Sharana Shirasagi. Speaking at the program, the school principal, Sri Vamshikrishna, started with “Om Namah Shivaya” and informed that according to the Puranas, Shiva appeared in the form of a lingam, and during the churning of the ocean, Shiva drank poison and got the name Neelkantha. The students spoke about the poetry and service of the cuckoo of India, freedom fighter Smt. Sarojini Naidu. The students of Gokulam section performed the disguises of Shiva, Parvati, and Sarojini Naidu. Several children performed songs and dances.
ಕಲಬುರಗಿ, ಫೆ. 13: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಕಲಬುರಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಶಿವರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾನಕೋಗಿಲೆ ಸರೋಜಿನಿ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಂಶಿಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಓಂ ನಮಃ ಶಿವಾಯ” ದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಪುರಾಣಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಶಿವನು ಲಿಂಗರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡದ್ದು , ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮಂಥನದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವನು ವಿಷವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದ ನೀಲಕಂಠ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾರತದ ಕೋಗಿಲೆ, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸರೋಜಿನಿ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಇವರ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಗೋಕುಲಂ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶಿವ, ಪಾರ್ವತಿ, ಸರೋಜಿನಿ ನಾಯ್ಡುರವರ ಛದ್ಮ ವೇಷ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದರು. ಹಲವಾರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಂದ ಹಾಡು, ನೃತ್ಯಗಳು ಮೂಡಿಬಂದವು.
